GS Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 9: A major scam in selection of Ancillary Medical Trainees in Jammu and Kashmir Ancillary Medical Training School (AMTS) has surfaced. A close aide of former Health & Medical Education Minister has reportedly compelled the in-charge principal of AMTS to run the classes of nominated students recommended by former Health Minister despite the fact that selection list of AMTS is yet to be announced. Reliable source in department said that a close aide of former Health Minister has been influencing the functioning of department to such an extent that despite that fact the State Paramedical Council has clearly mentioned in advertisement that the aspirants' forms to be considered, who have passed examination of 12th with biology (Physic, Chemistry& Biology) and apart from these, others would not be considered for AMT. "The candidates who are eligible for trainee of ancillary in Medical Deptt are still waiting for the declaration of selection list for the last two months", said a source, adding, most of nominated students have passed the class 12 in Science stream but not in biology, which was sheer violation of norms, enacted by the Jammu Kashmir Council of Paramedical. He further said that it was most unfortunate to newcomer as the students who were nominated allegedly under the directions of former Health Minister have started new session on the direction of top official of Medical council, portending towards something fishy in the selection process. It is pertinent to mention here that every year the AMTS has advertisement for 400 trainees including 20 percent nominated quota but ironically to oblige then Minister concerned, all the nominated students are getting training while meritorious students were still awaiting for to get admission in AMTS. The nefarious design of administration judge from this act that probably they know maybe in near future if new Government is to be formed and portfolio may be changed then how to adjust blue eyed candidates. "So, to fulfill their nefarious design, they deliberately were delaying to declare the selection list of trainees", source alleged. "If the council is selecting the students who passed in non-medical streams then it should re-advertising admission process, so that those who had scrutinized due to non medical, to get opportunity to take admission in Ancillary Medical Training, Jammu", said a retired Professor of GMC. When contacted Registrar of State Paramedical Council, Dr Sandeep Singh said that owing to various reasons, the process of selection list was delaying, adding, "It is prerogative of Secretariat to nominate the candidates for the course and recommendation of Principal concerned." In reply of further queries he said, we have already informed the Council to consider the students who passed 10+2 with Science, not only passed in medical and hopefully it would be passed in the meeting, which is scheduled to held on Feb 11 at 11:30 am. |
