HANDWARA, Feb 9: Police have recovered the minor girl, who was abducted from Handwara on January 5 last, from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh, besides arresting her kidnapper. On January 5, it was reported to police that the girl had been abducted by Dilawar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh of Zachaldara. To this effect, a case under FIR number 07/16 was registered at Police Station, Handwara. During investigation, several accomplices of Dilawar were picked up for their alleged involvement in facilitating the kidnapping. The investigating team headed by SI Masroor Ahmad, after strenuous efforts, got the information that the girl had been taken to Dalhousie by the accused. The Handwara police, with the help of Himachal police, arrested the accused from Dalhousie and recovered the girl from his possession.
The girl was handed over to her parents, police said. |
