AKMRH hold meet, highlight demands | | | JAMMU, Feb 9: All Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders (AKMRH) held a meeting here today under the presidentship of Ajay Bhat and highlighted various issues pertaining to exiled community. Addressing office bearers, Ajay Bhat lambasted both state and central govts for ignoring the plight of Kashmiri Migrants. Reiterating his demands he said the cash assistance of Kashmiri relief holders should be enhanced to Rs. 25000 per month per family as comparing to present average relief per head Rs. 83.33p per day which is not less than a cruel joke with the migrants. He further said that prices of essential commodities have gone sky high and a meagre Rs 2500 per head per month is not sufficient. Expressing great concern over the over-aged youth of the community he said, "the over-aged unemployed youth must be given a compansation of Rs. 50 lakh each as they have suffered a lot at the hands of unemployment and others problems since the last 26 years." The unemployed youth who were in the age group of 25 to 35 years at the time of migration in 1990 have been the worst hit lot of the community whose career was ruined for ever. Besides other issues, Bhat balled for filling up of pending vacancies under PM's employment package for Kashmiri migrant youth and issuance of compensation to the damaged property. He in an appeal to Governor of state urged to intervene personally in the matter.
