Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 14: Alleging that police were allegedly trying to hush up the murder of an ex-CRPF cop at Mendhar, a social organisation has sought the state governor's intervention for justice. Talking to media persons here today, J&K State Samaj Sudhar Committee president Mohammad Yosuf Wani said ex-CRPF cop Wazir Mohammad (65) of Mendhar left home to attend a court hearing on July 18, 2012, but did not return. His wife Razak Begum searched for him, but could not get any clue to his whereabouts. On July 29, 2012, Wazir's body was recovered Chajja Sisha Wali Topi, Mendhar. Razak later told police that at least nine persons, including two cops and seven local goons, were involved in the murder of her husband. Wani alleged that police had been dragging feet in the case and not making any effort to probe into it. While the matter was brought to the notice of higher ups, including the Poonch SSP, from time to time, no action was taken, he added. He appealed to the governor to direct police to launch a probe into the case and apprehend all the suspects so that the family could get justice. |
