Rajnath statement on Guru likely to affect Madhav visit to JK | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 14: The killing of two civilians in firing and the statement of the home minister Rajnath Singh that people who are protesting in the JNU were supported by the LeT founder Hafiz Sayeed has sent wrong signals and is likely to affect scheduled visit of the BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav with the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. According to the sources the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti may delay the meeting with the BJP leader, a former RSS worker, till the situation diffuses. "Mehbooba Mufti may delay the meeting when the tempers are high after the killing of the two youth who were well educated and the home minister had said those JNU students commemorating the death of the Afzal Guru , which has deep resonance in the valley, as being supported by the LeT founder Hafiz Sayeed. A meeting can't start at this starting point,"s aid a PDP leader. Sources said these are two issues engaging with the people different ideology and an end to the vicious cycle of the innocent killing in the Kashmir and this is what has happened "The state is under Governor's rule means its directly controlled by the Delhi so the blame of the killing goes to the BJP's central government and engaging with its leader at this point when people are on the street and tempers high for government formation wouldn't be a prudent move so Mehbooba Mufti may do lot of rethinking on this ," said the leader. The PDP has though made some hectic back channel deliberation with the BJP for ending the stalemate but has also told the party that it has to be sensitive to the needs to the needs of the Kashmir and also of the PDP. ""The BJP has to understand that its high point that it should respond to the sensitivitiy of the Kashmiris-read Muslim- and once they agree to it and respond to it things can be started but such incidents does put brakes on it and the onus for it is on the BJP," said the PDP leader. |
