Sub offices, branches of JKBOSE facing official neglect | 20 offices paying over 10 lakhs in rent | | Bijay Charak Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: Years after they were established across the state, Sub Offices and Branches of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) are still running in rented building , indicating clear neglect on part of the BOSE. Reliable source in Board informed Early Times that 12 sub offices and 13 branches of JKBOSE are running in different districts but most of the offices are running in two -three rooms accommodation. "Instead of establishing its own buildings, the sub offices and branches BOSE is paying over Rs. 10 lakhs annual rent for its 20 offices in various districts of state", they said. Sources further said that the Board has been paying more than Rs. 54 thousands as annual rent for each rented building, hired for its offices. Till date the Board has not made any proposal to get offices for its branches constructed. "A Sub Office of JKBOSE should have minimum five to six rooms accommodation to work smoothly but at present the employees working in these office are herded like livestock", Pleading anonymity, an employee working in sub office said, adding that it was very difficult for us at the time when the students submit their examination forms. Criticizing Board Management, the employee further said that most of the offices were established a decade back but astoundingly the management had not forwarded any proposal to government for their sub offices. In-charge Assistant Secretary of JKBOSE, Ghulam Hasan Wani said that he was not authorized to comment. Repeated calls to Joint Secretary, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Pir did not evoke any response. |
