JAMMU, Feb 14: On a talent search mission across the country, aiming at the2020 Olympics, the National Yuva Cooperative Society Ltd is conducting a talent hunt in athletics at MA Stadium, here on February 20. The day-long event is expected to involve around 500 young talented athletes in the age group of 11-17 years from various educational institutions. The programme is part of the nationwide campaign launched by the Society. "The best athletes of the country in 100m, 200m and 800m will be a part of a focussed training programme with a view for them to represent India at the Olympic Games, 2020, to be held in Tokyo," representative of the Society in J&K, Opinder Sharma told. He further disclosed that those participants in 11-14 year group can only take part in 100 meters and 200 meters events while other age category athletes of 15-17 year are allowed to take part in 100 meters, 200 meters and 800 meters events with a maximum of two events per athlete. |
