AMCJ organizes IIIrd Annual Peace Symposium

JAMMU, Feb 14: Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Jammu organized IIIrd Annual Peace Symposium on "The Devastating Consequences of a Nuclear War and the Critical Need for Absolute Justice" today at Jammu Club, Jammu in which hundreds of people belonging to different religion/faith/sects participated.
The program was presided over by Moulana Muhammad Hameed Kousar, All India Secretary Muslim Jamat Ahamdivva. Dr. Nirmal Singh Former Deputy Chief Minister of J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Justice J. P. Singh retired Judge of J&K High Court and member State Accountability Commission, Prof Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu and Prof. R.D. Sharma Vice Chancellor University of Jammu were the guests of honour on the occasion. The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Kamran Ahmad. Different Scholars including S.S. Bijral, S.K. Jain, Prof. Rajnikant and Moulana Aleem Ahmad Aftab threw light on the topic and urged for peace and justice in the society.
In his welcome address Gohar Hafeez Fani highlighted Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's contribution to the society irrespective of the religion, caste or creed. He said that these peace symposiums are one of the flagship events of the Jamaat around the world.The aim of such events is to achieve the larger goal of attaining peace in society by bringing people from diverse walks of life together and provide them a forum to exchange ideas and experiences on its attainment in today's pluralistic society worldwide. He further said that the event not only brings diverse people together but fosters deep bonds of understanding and brotherhood among them. Dr. Nirmal Singh former Dy. Chief Minister appreciated the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for organizing such events which promote peace and harmony in the world which is on the forefront for the welfare of humanity across the globe. While addressing the gathering Justice J.P. Singh appreciated Jamaat for its initiatives with such social relevance and stressed for holding such programs and interactive sessions so that peace and harmony is established in the society. Justice Singh further said, "Peace can only be attained when one is at peace with oneself."
