Medanta organizes CME on Cardiac Emergencies in Neonatal & Infants | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 14: Eminent medical experts of specialized Paediatric Cardiology streams from the prestigious Gurgaon-based Medanta Heart Institute have assembled here today for taking part in a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on Cardiac Emergencies in Neonatal & Infants at Hotel Asia Jammu to share their rich experiences, expertise and proficiency with the doctors of Jammu. The CME programme was organized on the Eve of CHD (Congenital Heart Defects Awareness week in collaboration with Indian Academy of Paediatrics Jammu Branch . The event caught the attention of medical professionals in the city and there was an enormous response to the sessions held at the CME. The expert from Medanta Dr Amit Misri (Sr. Consultant Paediatric Cardiology & Intervention), warmly welcomed to Jammu by the members of IAP Branch Jammu . The proceedings of technical session of CME were chaired by Prof. Dr G.S. Saini , Deptt of Pediatrics Govt Medical College (GMC) Jammu as chairperson while of Former Prof & HOD Pediatrics Dr D.B Sharma attended the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr A.S. Sasan & Prof. & HOD ASCOMS Dr Ravinder Gupta were the guests of honour . Sr Consultant-Interventional & Pediatric Cardiology-Medanta Heart Institute Dr Amit Misri delivered lecture on Topic: Cardiac Emergencies in Neonatals & Infants during a well attended CME on Cardiology organized by -Medanta -The Medicity Hospital Gurgaon In Association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (Jammu Branch) here in City of Temples on last night on the eve of " (CHD-Congenital Heart Deffects Awareness Week) The keynote speaker from Medanta -The Medicaity, Dr Amit Misri while speaking on the subject with special reference of the J&K emphasises on the latest technology in Pediatric Emergencies Management Eminent Pediatric Cardiologist Dr Amit Misri also explained that Our aim was to aware of congenital heart disease (CHD) at a multi-speciality corporate hospital in North India. A retrospective analysis of records of 10,641 patients over a five-and-a-half year period was done. Clinical examination, echocardiography and color doppler were used as diagnostic tools. A prevalence of 26.4 per 1000 patients was observed. VSD (ventricular septal defect) was the commonest lesion (21.3%), followed by ASD (atrial septal defect) in 18.9% and PDA (patent ductus arteriosus) in 14. 6%. Tetralogy of Fallot was the commonest cyanotic heart disease (4.6%). As Maximum number of children with heart disease (82.9%) were diagnosed between 0-3 years of age. Proceddings of programme wer well managed by Dr Rajesh Sharma and vote of thanks along with presentation of Momentos were also given to Chairperson ,Chief Guest & guest of Honours Members of medico fraternity, senior residents and Post Graduate students were present in this CME held at Hotel Asia Jammu on saturday evening. Where in Sr Manager Marketing Mr Sudhanshu Sharma said that on 14th of every month Dr Amit Misri is available for their Monthly OPd in Jammu Medicinsult Centre where in we Conduct Free Echo-Cardiography for Childrens ailing with CHD. The CME concluded with vote of thanks presented by Manmohan Singh Chairman Care India Foundation Trust instrumental in making OPDs of Medanta in state. |
