Bijay Charak Early Times REport Jammu, Mar 10:On the hind side of Prime Minister's ambitious 'Make in India' campaign to generate job opportunities for skilled youth, state govt has closed skill development training progrmmes in various polytechnics of state for the youths from under-privileged classes due to paucity of funds. Pleading anonymity, an official of Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk said that under the scheme Community Development Through Polytechnic (CDTP) the main activity is imparting various skill development Vocational Training Programme to the rural youth, SC/ST/Min/OBC/Females and other category persons to empower them and improve their living standard. They alleged that state government didn't submit their utilization report to Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India due to which the union government stopped funds in August, 2015 but it was very interesting the administration of Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk have invited students for admission in various courses. "More than 225 students have applied but till date the courses have not been started. And the instructors who were working in this scheme for the last six years are also disengaged and are now jobless," they said. They further alleged that the college administration didn't issue the certificates to students, who have completed their course in August, 2015, time and again when the student approached college administrations for their certificates, they had to face humiliation. Even as, the government of India is focusing on skill development, the scheme which was beneficial to many poor students has been stopped due to negligent approach of the college administration and state government thereby depriving the training to the many poor and needy students. CDTP, Co-ordinator, Govt Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Er. Ritu Jamwal accepted that the course has been stopped due to non release of funds by union government and she had taken the matter with the higher authority already. "The students who applied in various courses, previous year their training will be started when the GoI released funds", she said. |
