Anantnag, Mar 10: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag on Thursday handed over a cheque of rupees ten thousand to brave armless cricketer Amir Husain Lone of Waghama Bijbehara. Amir- Captain of Jammu and Kashmir's Para-Cricket team has grabbed headlines in major national and international media houses in past one month. Muneer-ul-Islam, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag handed over the cheque to Amir, here at Ranibag Park in a function, organized to facilitate the armless cricketer who braved odds to prove his love for the cricket. On the occasion, DC Anantnag also disclosed that cricketer will provided a job in a private construction company. "RAMKY Construction Company has offered a job to Amir," DC disclosed while assuring a permanent government job to him. 28 years old Amir, a Sachin Tendulkar fan, lost his both arms at the age of 7 when he was just 2nd primary student. "Amir lost arms On September 21, 1997 in an accident at sawmill where he had gone to drop lunch box for mechanics," Amir's father Bashir Ahmad had told media. Bashir had to sell his sawmill and other propriety for treating Aamir who according to him remained in hospital for all most three years. "During odds time's people, relatives advised me to not waste money on Amir but I never discontinued his treatment," he added. During interviews, this armless cricketer has narrated his ordeal and life experience with media houses and despite difficulties had continued his struggle, studies, and passed his Class 10th, 12th with flying colors. Amir bowls, bats and even takes his meals with his legs.
