Jammu, Mar 10 : World Kidney Day was celebrated by the Nephrology Department of Govt Medical College, Jammu at Super Specialty Hospital. According to press release, Dr. S.K.Bali Prof. & HOD Nephrology delivered key note address on this occasion and informed the gathering about the various kidney diseases and their prevention. "The theme of this year's kidney day is kidney diseases in children and their early prevention. Children at all ages' right from birth can suffer from various kidney problems which may go unnoticed for long", he said, adding that in addition to the congenital disorders children commonly suffer from urinary tract infections due to Vesico Ureteric reflux, Nephrotic syndrome and acute glomerulonephritis. Meanwhile, Dr. Surinder Sodhi, informed that the department of Nephrology in SSH is providing services to the patients of Kidney diseases since its start in 2013. Around 4500 Haemodialysis are done per year and around 35 CAPO are done annually. The function was attended by the senior faculty members, Residents and Paramedical staff of the Govt. Medical College Jammu. Dr. S.K. Bali thanked the senior faculty members of other departments who have providing Medical and technical support for running the Dialysis services of the Nephrology Department. |
