Srinagar, Mar 15: In order to ensure smooth conduct of the 44-day-long annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas from shortest Baltal route, authorities have asked various agencies to work in close coordination to achieve better results. An official spokesman said here today that District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat discussed various issues relating to the yatra, including registration of ponies, labourers and facilities including accommodation, medicare, transport, parking, boarding and lodging, supply of drinking water, power, supply of essentials, firewood, sanitation, establishment of control rooms besides upgradation of tracks and snow clearance upto the cave via Baltal route. The DDC called upon the officers to take appropriate measures well in advance to ensure smooth conduct of this annual event. He stressed the need for a close coordination between various agencies to achieve better results. He also directed the concerned to submit their action plans in time and project their requirements enabling the authorities to take appropriate measures. |
