Seditious Owaisi, Kanhaiya have no place in India
Rustication just not enough

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: A high-level committee of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has recommended rustication of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and two other students for the rest of the semester in connection with an anti India event, which was held on February 9 on the campus where anti-national, pro-azadi, pro-Afzal Guru and pro-Maqbool Bhat slogans were raised and the institution of Indian State was attacked, abused and challenged. Several Kashmiri students and non-students had also actively participated in the anti-national event, which shocked and angered the entire nation, barring the Congress, the Left, the JDU and the NCP leadership. The leadership of these perverted secular parties sided with, and continue to side with, the JNU seditionists.
A decision on the recommendation will be taken by Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar and Chief Proctor A Dimri after a thorough scrutiny of the suggestions. A meeting of the university's top brass chaired by the Vice-Chancellor on Monday discussed the report following which show-cause notices to 21 students, including Kanhaiya and Umar, who were found guilty of having violated university rules and discipline norms. A senior official said: "The panel has found 21 students guilty of violating university rules and disciplinary norms. They are expected to respond by March 16. They have been asked to explain why they should not be penalised."
The committee was formed on February 10 to probe the event organised to protest the hanging of Afzal Guru, the Parliament attack convict.
The decision to rusticate the seditious JNU students has not gone down well with the nationalists across the country and our soldiers and paramilitaries, which have been defending the borders and national cause making supreme sacrifices. The decision has also evoked a sharp reaction from the students of Jammu University and civil society members. Many Jammu University students, like the civil society groups, have termed the decision "utterly unacceptable".
"Those who organised anti-India events on and after February 9 and those like Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechuary and D Raja, who sided with them, must be booked and tried under the charge of sedition. Kanhaiya & Co should be given an exemplary punishment. Their rustication is not acceptable to us; they committed acts of sedition against the nation and they must be brought to justice as per the law of the land. Actions like rustication will further embolden the anti-nationals in the JNU, including teachers like Nivedita Menon and Tanika Sarkar, to heighten their anti-India activities. We also want action against AIMIM leader and Member Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, who said he will not chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' even if a knife was put to his throat. Owaisis, Geelanis, Mirwaizs, Yasin Maliks, Shabir Shahs, Asiya Andrabis and others of their ilk have no place in India. Either they must be tried under the charge of sedition or they must be thrown out of India as their presence in India poses a live challenge to the unity and integrity of India. We want stringent action against them and those who attacked the Indian State, attacked the institution of the Army and who shamelessly said they will not chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. India is not a banana republic; India is a self-respecting nation, but the Indian political class has been failing the nation by pursuing weak-kneed policies," today said many Jammu University students and civil society members while reacting to the reports on the decision to rusticate Kanhaiya and others from the JNU and on the report that Owaisi declared that he will not raise the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki jai.
The Narendra Modi Government needs to appreciate the sentiments of the outraged nation and outraged student community and act in the best interest of India. He should also ensure that no meeting takes place between the Indian Foreign Secretary and his Pakistani counterpart in Nepal.
