Interaction Forum Jammu holds session at Kathua | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Mar 15 : Spearheading its campaign of building broader unity of the people of Jammu Province, the Interaction Forum-Jammu Province held its Interactive session at Kathua. This was first Session of the Forum in the series of holding interactions at district levels. Besides the members of the Central Body of the Forum, the prominent persons from various sections of society of district Kathua took part in the interactive session at Kathua. The day-long session was presided over by former District and Sessions Judge Duni Chand. H C Jalmeria advocate provincial convener of the Forum was the Chief Guest while Ashok Sharma advocate, Ex MLA and Dr. K C Dubey former Director Radio Jammu, were the Guests of honour. Capt. Lalit Sharma briefly introduced the programs and policies of the Forum. The other participants who expressed their views included, Prof Ram Murti president Kathua Vikas Manch, Bishan Dass president Prajapati Sabha, Master Dayanand and others. The speakers expressed their grave concern over the continued neglect of Jammu Province in the hands of various regimes since 1947 which has resulted into suppression of the aspirations of the people at large as well as denial of legitimate due of the Jammu Province. The Region has only 37 members in Assembly & 2 in Lok Sabha whereas it deserves 50 & 4 seats respectively in the said houses. All the participants overwhelmingly emphasized to forge broader unity of people in Jammu Province overcoming caste, religion or territory based diversities. An adhoc Committee of the Forum for Kathua district comprising 2 members was constituted with C L Dhiman former legislature as its convener. |
