Cong urges election authorities to remove anomalies in electoral rolls

JAMMU, Mar 15 : Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has urged the election machinery to rectify the glaring mistakes and discrepancies being noticed in voter lists before the conduct of ULB elections in order to ensure the right to franchise to all eligible and genuine voters in the electoral exercise. Reacting to the reports of large scale discrepancies and mistakes in the voters' lists for the forthcoming ULB elections, the JKPCC has urged the concerned authorities to undertake the necessary exercise to rectify the same in order to ensure the participation of all eligible and genuine voters in the electoral exercise. The authorities should deal with objections and corrections submitted by the people during the period besides undertaking suo-moto exercise also in order to ensure that all eligible and genuine voters are enlisted and the mistakes are duly rectified within shortest possible time. It hoped that necessary corrective exercise shall be under taken by the concerned authorities in a fair and transparent manner.
