Reports about govt teachers practicing 'private tuitions' sought ahead of 'Govt Formation'

Rajouri, Apr 4: Immediately after confirmation of formation of Civil Government in the State, Directorate of School Education (DSE) on April 1, has directed all the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Jammu province to submit the reports about the government teachers practicing private tuition.
According to sources vide DSE letter No.DSEJ/G-213/MW/2016 all the CEOs have been asked to furnish report of status of private tuition centres run by the government teachers besides action taken report, if any in this matter.
To bring the standard of education on track in government schools, Directorate of School Education vide its order No.572/DSEJ of 2015 had prohibited the private tuitions.
"But despite blanket ban on the private tuition, many government teachers including headmaster, lecturers continued to run tuition centres either at changed locations or at their residences" alleged a senior Education Officer.
Following complaints, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri vide his office order (remainder) No-1- CEOR/18810-18975 dtd 7/11/15 advised such teachers not to indulge in private tuition, otherwise they will face departmental action under law.
Vide his order the CEO Rajouri has directed all the Principals, ZEOs, Headmasters to convey all the employees under their control to obey the DSE order otherwise they will face action under law.
On the other hand the education department also had initiated internal investigation and found that some teachers still involved in the private tuition in many parts of Jammu Province (vide Edu/Vig/2016 reference).
Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri on the directions from the office of Directorate of School Education on April 2, has directed all the Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) under his jurisdiction to submit certificate / affidavitwithin two days that no teacher under their jurisdiction is involved in private tuition.
"Affidavit/ certificates have been demanded from the DDOs so that they be made responsible for any such involvement (private tuition) by the teachers during more investigations in the future" said CEO.
