| JU's VC attacks media, reveals his deep frustration | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Apr 4: What can be termed as sheer frustration, the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University has launched a nasty campaign against the print media on the social network.
In his latest post on Facebook, the VC called media reports about wrongdoings of varsity as "false propaganda".
Reacting to his statement, an ABVP activist snubbed the university administration for disallowing a blood donation Camp in the campus. The varsity rather desired to do it under the supervision of DSW and without the involvement of outsiders which was ridiculous condition imposed by the varsity as earlier on several occasions such camps and seminars were held by ABVP without any hindrance and condition, he lamented.
Recapitulating few wrong acts of university which naturally attracted the attention of print media , the sources told that closure of two courses of Political Science, Economics as also M.Ed. and B.Ed. in the Distance Education Department, prejudicial handling of court cases of contractual lecturers of DDE allowing one blue eyed contractual lecturer to work rejecting others identical cases, according six months extension in one go to lecturers in other Departments of varsity vis-a-vis DDE where similar six months extension to contractual lecturers which was given in breaks, attempts to clip the wings and decimate functioning of DDE, suspension of university work on October 14, last year to stop youth conference of ABVP, closure of Human Genetic center, lapse of grants and stopping of construction works of off-site campuses, non-filling of posts of Registrar, Director CDC, Administrator GZSA till now, adjusting blue eyed on top posts ignoring more competent officers, allowing persons to hold more than one post violating its own "one man one post policy", delay in declaration of results much beyond statutory schedule of 45 days , blocking of network facility, cancellation of Asst. Registrars selection process etc. were some of wrongs which came to light through print media committed by the administration under the leadership of VC during his over one year tenure in the University and such acts came to be highlighted in the press for improvement of the system plagued with actions attracting criticism within and outside the campus.
The sources further informed that instead of fine tuning the varsity administrative set up and providing congenial academic environment, he fell prey to destructive agenda of his coterie chosen by him leading to these wrong doings , further said, adding that in place of taking corrective measures and wielding control over subordinate officers in administration, Vice Chancellor has resorted to uncalled for assault on the press and calling the press reportings as false propaganda which is nothing but demonstration of his arrogance in the public through social networking instrumental for his failure on many fronts to judiciously tackle multifarious affairs in the overall interest of staff, students and university. |
