Of 203 defaulters, 20 owe Rs 28 lakh in Sub Div-III PDD's skewed revenue collection 4/4/2016 11:39:22 PM G S Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4: With state's power deficit increasing alarmingly with each passing year, the tall claims made by former Power ministers, Omar Abdullah in Congress-NC coalition and Dr Nirmal Singh in PDP-BJP coalition, to rationalize the derailed functioning of Power Development Department (PDD) have failed to do anything concrete to realize dues pending with numerous defaulters. As per an RTI response furnished by department recently, in Sub Division-III of Parade of Power Development Department, there are 203 defaulters with long pending arrears running in Crores which have not been paid to department since 2010. 20 defaulters have more than one Lakh pending dues whereas as 33 defaulters have arrears pending over Rs. 50,000 for many years. The 20 defaulters are as Bagwan Dass s/o Didar Chand resident of H. No. 104, Pacci Dhaki owes Rs. 2.31 Lakhs, Daulat Ram s/o Dewan Chand resident of H. No-278 Hari Nagar owes Rs. 2.43 Lakhs, Arun Kumar resident of Kucha Nihal Shah, Jammu owes Rs. 1.22 Lakhs, Sober Masi s/o Alla Rakha resident of C.P.O Road owes Rs. 1.27 Lakhs, Beeru Ram s/o Chet Ram resident of H. No. 203 Janipur, Jammu owes Rs. 1.01 Lakhs, Chajju Ram s/o Chuni Lal resident of H.No. 79, Jullaka Mohalla owes 1.04 Lakhs, Nawab Massi resident of H.No. 151, New Plot Jammu owes Rs. 1.39 Lakhs, Khan Singh s/o Mangat Singh resident of H.No. 121 Old Rehri owes 1.09 Lakhs, Saru Sharma resident of Rani Park owes Rs. 1.00 Lakhs, Rattan Lal s/o Ram Chand resident of 131, Addhri Gali Panjthriti owes Rs 1.02 Lakhs. Whereas, Behari Lal s/o Jagat Ram resident of H.No. 115, Lane-12 of Jawahar Nagar, New Plot owes Rs. 1.56 Lakhs, Pashori Lal s/o Jagat Ram resident of Pacca Talab owes Rs. 1.83 Lakhs, Kirshan Lal s/o Ram Dass resident of H.No. 193, New Plot owes Rs. 1.58 Lakhs, Som Nath s/o Nek Ram resident of H.No. 314, Old Rehri owes Rs. 1.26 Lakhs, Sunil Jain s/o Om Parkash resident of Circular Road owes 1.12 Lakhs. Moreover, Abdul Rashid s/o Rehmat Ali resident of H.No-371/F, New Plot having pending dues Rs. 1.32Lakhs, Subash Chander s/o Sewa Ram resident of H.No. 162 Gali DR Nani Janipur having pending dues Rs. 1.09 Lakhs, Avtar Singh s/o Kartar Singh resident of H. No. 255/B, Pacca Talab Jammu owes Rs. 1.59, Viday Dhar c/o Karyana Shop, Old Rehari Jammu having pending dues Rs. 1.5 Lakhs and Kappor Chand s/o Daulat Ram resident of H.No. 140 of Jullkha Mohalla having pending dues Rs. 1.24 Lakhs for last five years. Besides, in PDD Sub Div -I, there were 367 defaulters, including 33 who owed more than one Lakh whereas 75 defaulters who owed more than 50,000 pending dues and department concerned seems clueless on how to collect pending dues from the defaulters.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
