Jammu, Apr 6 : Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have arrested a habitual drug peddler and recovered around 570 intoxicants from his possession. A case stands registered in this regard. "The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar alias Parveen s/o Kasturi Lal of Rehari Colony, Jammu," police spokesperson said. Police spokesman said, "In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta, today SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz Ahmed assisted by SI Tariq Ahmed along with police party raised a naka. "During naka checking at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar signaled one Motor Cycle bearing Registration number JK02AL-9025 for checking but on seeing police the motorcyclist tried to break the Naka, police said, adding, "however he was caught by the police party.' Police said, "During questioning disclosed his name as Pawan Kumar alias Parveen of Rehari Colony, Jammu and on his frisking police recovered 360 of Tablet Nitravet and 210 of capsules Proxyvon Spasma recovered from his possession. "The overall operation was supervised by Shazad Salaria, SP City South, police said. |
