Jammu, Apr 6: Taking strong exception of the dereliction of duty, SSP Jammu, Dr. Sunil Gupta attached Abdul Rashid, Incharge Police Post (PP), Gujjar Nagar, sources said.
They said that during surprise visit last night, the SSP Jammu came to know that the Incharge Police Post, Gujjar Nagar, Abdul Rashid was busy in a marriage party during the duty hours.
"To alert other delinquent officers and to maintain highest standards in professional duties, he ordered attachment of the police officer to District Police Line with immediate effect", sources said.
Sources further said during the recent past, Dr. Sunil Gupta has initiated departmental inquires against about dozen police officials.
Incharge Police Post, SMGS Hospital, Waseem replaced Abdul Rashid at Gujjar Nagar Police Post while second Incharge of SMGS police post has been appointed as the Incharge of the SMGS Police Post with immediate effect.
Karamjeet Singh, Sub Inspector is among other officers who also faced the axe of dereliction of duties.
Singh has been attached from Police Post Bakshi Nagar to District Police Line and was replaced by Deepak Katoch, Incharge Officer of Bakshi Nagar Police Satation.
Pertinently, besides these officers, the SSP Jammu also initiated departmental inquiry against three police officials for dereliction of duties, just a day before the visit of Vice-President Hamid Ansari to Jammu University, one officer on the day of visit allegedly for remaining busy with phone during the visit of the VVIP and a sentry and an ASI allegedly for a theft case at a temple, wall of which is common with the Sarwal Police Post. |
