PM backtracked from his statement on father-daughter rule | `Liased with both father and daughter for power' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 6: A few days after assuring full support to Mahbooba led coalition government, the Prime Minister has been reminded of his speech during his tour of the state in November 2004. The PM had said that the real problem in Jammu Kashmir was father-son, father-daughter rule. He went to the extent of saying that the Jammu Kashmir rulers had been looting New Delhi for more than three decades. A political activist while commenting on the statements, said there are no permanent friends and foes in politics. And then the statement was made at a time when the BJP was sure to register a massive win with 44+ seats in the assembly elections. However, the mission 44+ could not be accomplished as the BJP failed to open its account in the valley. "The desperation for ruling the state forced the party (BJP) too liase with the PDP which is poles apart from PDP as far as the ideologies of the two organisations are concerned," he said. The Prime Minister took personal interest in ensuring PDP-BJP government in Jammu Kashmir last year and again during the past few weeks. In fact, political analysts believe that the government formation was ensured by personal intervention of the Prime Minister after top BJP leadership ruled out sharing power with PDP in Jammu Kashmir. |
