Will sympathizers of JNU's anti-nationals stand with nationalists of NIT? | | | Abodh Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 6: Those who fell over each other to express solidarity with anti nationals who swore by devastation of Indian nation in JNU in the name of freedom of expression a few months back have suddenly lost their voice over what happened in NIT Srinagar in last two days and Congressmen, Communists, and Samajwadis who left no stone unturned to project traitors like Kanhaiya Kumar, Anirban and Omar Khalid as national heroes to settle political scores have suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth. Rahul Gandhi, who tried to make political purchase out of incidents of JNU and Hyderabad Central University and staged protests against the Government at both the places has not issued a single statement on the Srinagar incident where the National Institute of Technology has been literally been converted into Anti National Institute and nationalist students who dared to confront the anti nationals were subjected to police brutality. The state Congress leadership which was all eloquence over the JNU incident and hurled choicest abuses on the HRD Ministry and Delhi police for entering the JNU campus has not uttered a word over the Police Savagery on nationalist students of NIT Srinagar who braved the anti national environment of the institute and dared to unfurl Tricolor in the campus. "Congress which is known for political opportunism failed to sense an opportunity here as most of the students who were victims of police savagery were from Jammu and a statement of condemnation against police action would have helped Congress recover some lost ground in Jammu" said Dheeraj Gupta, a student leader. "Where are Omar and Farooq Abdullah, who claim to be tall leaders of the state? Why have they lost their voice and their conscience?" he said questioning the silence of Abdullahs on the emotive issue. Pertinently, no political leader from any political party in Kashmir has dared to visit the NIT to give assurance and sense of security to the students who have been made captive in the NIT Srinagar. DyCM Nirmal Singh is expected to visit the NIT on Thursday, sources disclosed. |
