Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 6: Dissatisfied with their postings at 'insignificant' places, four senior IPS officers of J&K cadre are getting ready to pack their bags and leave the state for at least three years as all of them have applied for central deputation. They included two IGPs of 1992 and 1995 batches, one DIG and a SP, according to police sources. Of the two IGPs, one is posted at the same place since long while the other held an important posting before he was shifted to another place. He was transferred to PHQ in the recent past, but in the absence of his replacement, he continues to hold the previous post. He would be shifted to PHQ as and when a police officer was posted in his place. Since he was unwilling to go to his new place of posting, he applied for central deputation, sources informed. Earlier, he held an important post, but was shifted to other place as a senior officer was not happy with his work, sources said. The DIG wants to say goodbye to the state in protest against his transfer from a range to PHQ. He is unhappy with his transfer and considers his posting at PHQ as 'unimportant'. He has never served in Jammu region. "He is due for promotion as PHQ has already cleared his name for elevation to the rank of IGP," sources informed. The SP rank officer, who was at present posted in Jammu district, wanted to go on central deputation because all other officers of his batch were posted as districts SPs. These officers had activated all their resources to get central deputations, sources said. |
