Reasi, Apr 10: As the season is ripe for the land owners to get their lands earmarked on their names and get the other works done for girdawari, the four tehsils in District Rajouri are devoid of any revenue official to carry on the works.
As per the recent General Administration Department's order , nearly 117 officials were recalled from the revenue department that include many tehsildars and Block Development officers to be adjusted at various other postings,
The order was issued on March 27. However, after retrieving the officers, the GAD had incorporated same number of officials back to the department, but without assigning them their places of postings and the designation.
This has left four tehsils viz Sunderbani, Siot, Kalakote and Nowshera of district Rajouri reel under great hardship since the girdawari period has started since April 1 as usual.
" I have a an agricultural land to be transferred to my name since its inteqal has not been registered the death of my father . I wanted my land records to be made straight so that I could get the ownership rights of the agricultural land which is my heritage possession, " said Garib Dass, a local resident farmer of a village in Siot.
He said that since girdawars and tehsildars are not available in the offices, the work has been pending since long and the time period to do the needful is expiring.
Similar more cases were reported from Katlakote, Nowshera and tehsil Sunderbani also.
Why the revenue department has not assigned the postings of the tehsildars and the BDOs in the respective tehsils is a clueless question to which neither minister for revenue Basharat Ahmed Bukhari gave as he did not take up the call.
The newly incorporated BJP MoS for revenue in the new ministry Ajay Nanda who holds the portfolio for revenue too was not available to take the grievances of the landowners.
Meanwhile the landowners of different tehsils have decided to launch a campaign at their respective tehsil head quarters to list their grievances tomorrow.
