Jammu, Apr 10: More skeletons are tumbling out from cupboard of Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation Limited by altering tender for opening and running chain of 24x7 pharmacies within government hospital premises to give undue benefit to an influential pharmaceutical trader and an alleged 'defaulter' of the State Health Department. Reliable sources in the Corporation told Early Times that the Reference No: NIT/JKMSCL/PHARMACY/2015/J/107 dated 27-11-2015, the Corporation had flouted tender for opening and running chain of 24x7 pharmacies within government hospital premises in Jammu in which six private medical shops were supposed to be established in Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu, Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu, SMGS Hospital, Chest Diseases Hospital, Jammu, Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Jammu and Government Dental College Hospital, Jammu. "Ten of these shops were to be setup in district hospital in Jammu hospital and 14 medical shops were to be established in SDH/CHC Jammu division including Government Hospital Sarwal and Aknoor hospital. "An influential pharmaceutical trader and close aide of a Minister already has set up two medical shop at Sarwal hospital and in Akhnoor hospital," they said and added that keeping in view these things, the Corporation has removed both names from the tender list by publishing corrigendum on dated 26-12-15 to save him from financial loss and appease him. "It has directly given undue favour to the an influential pharmaceutical trader by deleting the names," sources added. They said alleged undue interference of some influential persons in the State and highest bid too, the tender was bagged by a Delhi based company and the influential trader -who is also partner of Delhi based company- and is handing these medial shops in Jammu province. "So far no officials in the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department have dared to initiate an inquiry to bring facts to fore and act against an influential pharmaceutical trader as he is allegedly 'defaulter' of the State Health Department, "sources alleged. |
