Ganderarbal Higher Secondary has 6 teachers for 300 students | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, Apr 10: For 300 students of 9th and 10th classes, Boys Higher Secondary School Gund Ganderbal has just six teachers with more then 150 students being accommodated in one class room. Official sources said for the 300 students of class 9th and 10th, there is a strength of 19 teachers but only six teachers are presently posted at the school. "There were eight teachers but the Principle of the Higher Secondary has deputed two other to other schools. While there was pre-mature transfer of many teachers who used their influence to go to other schools," an official said. The students said they are not able to concentrate on students in one class room having over 150 students. "As per rules, there should not be more than 45 students in one class room. We are being told that the problem will persist till it is having requisite teachers," the students said. Similarly, in class 11th, there are 106 students who too are being accommodated in one room for English class due to lack of teachers. While an English teacher teach 112 students of 12th class in one class room. "Our children are not able to concentrate on studies in class room. The school management is not able to divide them into sections due to lack of staff," the residents said. |
