Kishtwar, Apr 10: President, Public Awareness Front Kishtwar Shakir Sidiqui has expressed deep anguish and dissatisfaction with state of affairs and style of working in the department of CAPD in District Kishtwar as a result of which the poor and downtrodden people are feeling harassed due to missing of their names from the BPL quota.
While talking to "Early Times", PAF President Shakir Sidiqui said that large number of people had approached the various members of the front with so many complaints of flaws in issuing the ration cards in Kishtwar which has led to a situation of complete confusion and chaos. He said that many victims of official apathy are visiting concerned officers, but no one was ready to address the genuine problems of these poor people who names has been kept in APL category. He said that instead of addressing the problem of the poors, they were subjected to mental harassment. He said that many consumers had informed them that they have been rendered without ration cards as they have not been included in any of the categories for the reason best known to the authorities.
Sidiqui said that concerned department has failed to aware the common people about the criteria of various categories viz BPL, APL etc, which has redesigned as priority and non-priority category. He emphasized for setting up of special cell in the office of Assistant Director CAPD Kishtwar for redressal of complaints and grievances of people regarding National Food Security Act(NFSA) so that justice is meted out to the poor and deserving added that otherwise dejected people will left with no other option; other than to come on roads. Sidiqui later also approached DC Kishtwar and apprised him about the matter in detail. Meanwhile Sidiqui has also urged the state government headed by Mehbooba Mufti to reconsider the execution of NFSA in the state in its first cabinet meet likely to be held on Monday till the issue of poor and downtroddens could be addressed.
