AIBCU celebrates Dr Ambedkar's Birth Anniversary

Srinagar, Apr 15: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) today held a special progarmme at Town Hall Kulgam (Kashmir) under the chairmanship of Sajad Hussain Ahanger, Distt President Kulgam in which large number of people from different walks of life participated and paid rich tributes to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Architect of the Indian Constitution. On this occasion, Abdul Majid Malik with his Central Committee Members Team was the Chief Guest who alongwith others paid floral tributes to late leader. Speakers recalled that suffering of downtrodden (OBCs/SCs/STs) since independence. 'With the implementation of the Indian Constitution not only, these sections not only could get the rights of education, the right of property but also are holding highest posts in the country "Pt Nehru and the successive Prime Minister's of the Country did not grant due share of the OBCs inspite of promises, they said. Adding further speakers said, "It was Late VP Singh, the Former Prime Minister who implemented Mandal Report and Country's OBCs got 27% reservation in the country." "In J&K State inspite of the Apex Court's Judgment of 1992 on Mandal report, NC Govt did not implement the Mandal Report," they said and further regretted that NC-Congress ruled the state for a longer period and only made poor OBCs, SCs deprived of due share.
They also said that present coalition regime led by chief minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti too has failed to give due share to them as it yet has not even appointed Vice Chairman of the State OBC - Advisory and Development Board.
Speakers cautioned the State Govt. for the dire consequences if Mandal Report is not implemented in the State.
Prominent who spoke on the occasion were Bilal Ahmed Hazam, Mohd Sharif Nazar, Mohd Ramzan Mochi Gulam Hassan Nazar, Gulam Ahmed Sher Gojri, H M Sandokh Chand, Mohd Arfan, Romesh Kumar, Prof Kali Dass and others.
