NC adds fuel to Valley fire | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 15: At a time when government is alarmed to tackle unrest in North Kashmirafter civilian Killings in Handwara and Kupwara, NC leadership is busy adding fuel to fire by blaming PDP on many fronts including not allowing its leadership to visit North Kashmir. Following snub from authorities, National Conference (NC) general secretary, Ali Mohammad Sagar today blamed PDP-led PDP-BJP government of not allowing them to visit Handwara and Kupwara where the situation for the past few days remained tense due to civilian killings in the area. Talking to reporters at Party headquarters here at Nawa-i-Subh complex, Sagar said that one NC delegation led by him was stopped by Police at Sangrama when they were on way to Handwara and Langate. Only after talking to IGP they were allowed to proceed from Sangarama but not beyond Sopore town. "Somehow after we moved ahead from Sangaram via Sopore we were again stopped by a police party and were brought back to Sopore police station and kept there for half an hour, before being sent back to Srinagar" Sagar said. He claimed that when such incidents happened during the NC rule they would facilitate other parties to travel to those places including to Mehbooba Mufti who according to him would roam around everywhere whenever there were any killings. Contrary to PDP claims that it had sent its two leaders to North Kashmir, Sagar claimed that no minister from government went to Handwara as was being reported in the media. Sagar however is not alone to add fuel to fire as NC working president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah himself is busy on Twitter to blame PDP and the government for the turn of events in north Kashmir during last four days.
