BSMC Chairman describes Dr Ambedkar as Messiah of millions | | | REASI, Apr 15: Former Minister and Chairman Baba Saheb Memorial Committee (BSMC) Babu Jagjeevan Lal paid glowing tributes to the architect of Constitution of India, Dr B R Ambedkar, describing him as Messiah of millions who shaped the destiny of millions of people across the country. "The best tribute to Baba Saheb would be to work for carving out a society where opportunities of progress are available to all irrespective of caste, creed and colour", Babu Jagjeevan Lal said at a huge congregation at Reasi, held to observe the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. On this occasion 4.6 feet statue of the Baba Saheb was unveiled in presence of Giriraj Ji. He threw light on the life and teaching of Dr Ambedkar and said all his life the towering leader strived for dignified life of downtrodden and poor. "Baba Saheb was a visionary who envisioned a progressive society based on equality and social justice", the former minister said.He also spelled out measures taken by National Conference government from time to time for socio-economic emancipation and empowerment of weaker sections. "Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah took revolutionary measures for the political empowerment of down-trodden which is being vigorously carried forward by Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mr Omar Abdullah", he added. |
