Ramnavmi celebrates with fervor, gaiety | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Apr 15: The Holy Festival of Ramnavami was celebrated across the district Ramban with great religious fervor and gaiety, here today. The day also coincides with culmination of nine day long Navratra festival. The main function of Ramnavami was held in the historical Raghunath Ji Temple in Ramban town where large number of devotees worshipped and paid their obeisance to Lord Rama and other Gods and Goddesses. Besides this a large number of devotees also visited the various temples in the district to participate in the religious functions held in connection with celebration of Ramnavami and Navratra festival. A huge rush of devotees was also witnessed at Chenab river banks at the concluding day of Navratras. The holy crop (Saakh), sown on the first Navratra was taken away and allowed to flow in the river by the devotees after performing Pooja in the morning. These seven days long festival commenced when the Pujari Sham Lal of Raghunath Temple Ramban started his religious discourses at temple premises and organized a grand langer for the devotees. Meanwhile Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Neelam Kumar Langeh greeted the people on this occasion and appealed the people to maintain communal harmony, while greeting the people of Ramban Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Randeep Kumar asked them to keep peace, law and order. |
