Early Times Report BHADERWAH, Apr 15: Unlike elsewhere, Baisakhi in Bhadarwah is celebrated in parts with full religious fervor and gaiety. A grand Mela held at Subhar Nag first day of festival in which thousands of people participated and another day grand Mela of Nagni Mata held at Manthala village where people from all around paid obeisance. It is worthwhile to mention here that situated at a distance of 205 km from Jammu to its North at a height of 5000 ft above the sea level, Bhaderwah is a beautiful valley with swaying giant conifers and glistening snowy peaks. The culture of Bhadarwah has a great effect of 'Nag kalt'. Along with Shiv-Shakti People adore Naag devta equally. In the month of March Naag pujan begins with prayers of Subar Nag. The doors of Subar Nag temple are opened after the passage of Sharad month of hindu calander. On this day people in different groups from various villages of Bhadarwah (like Chinta, Manva, Sherora, Bhalara etc.) meets at the Temple. |
