For 28 years farmer demands demarcation of paternal land; Revenue Deptt unmoved | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 15: Harassed and disappointed to the core, a farmer namely Jaswant Singh hailing from Amala Village, Panchayat Amala, has been pleading for demarcation of paternal land for 28 years before Revenue officers but no official or officer of the department has come forward to fulfil his legal duty towards the applicant. 62 kanal out of total 70 Kanal agriculture land of Jaswant Singh has been gradually encroached by neighbors, duly backed by field staff of Revenue department especially Raj Kumar Patwari. Whenever he approached Revenue officers they made excuses and sent him back empty handed. The victim has been legitimately demanding demarcation of his land but the corrupt official allegedly in league with the encroachers have been empty recurring. Singh alleged that on Raj Kumar Patwari who conspired and encouraged some people to grab his land for illegal gratification. He said whenever he approached the Patwari he stated manhandling him whereas higher officials never took any action against him. When contacted, Tehsildhar Marheen said that a 4- member committee had been framed to verify the settlement of the area that would submit its report within weeks. He assured to demarcate Jaswant Singh's land after thorough verification of the land and revenue documents. |
