Two killed, 11 injured as minis bus rolls down into gorge | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Apr 15: Two persons including driver of a Tempo Traveler died on the spot while 11 other were injured when the vehicle fell into 5o feet deep gorge after being hit by another passenger vehicle near Budhal town in the evening today. Police sources said that the Tempo Traveler bearing registration No JK20-6200was on way to village Sungri from Budhal when the driver stopped it to give way to the sheep crossing the road. "As ill luck the occupants of vehicle had, a rashly driven Mini Bus bearing registration No JK20-8834 hit it from the behind resulting it to roll down into deep gorge, sources added. "Impact of the collision was so hard that tempo skidded off the road besides crushing 11 sheep, sources said, further adding, "one person namely Mohd Ramzan s/o Mohd Razak of Sanglikot died on the spot." An eyewitness Wazir Mohd said the as accident site was near the police station and Army TCP, people and security force personnel rushed to the spot and with the help of locals rescued the injured from trapped in the vehicle. All the 13 travelling in the Tempo received serious injuries out of which 8 critically injured were later referred to District Hospital (DH) Rajouri for further treatment. "All the necessary arrangements have been made in the district hospital for the treatment of the injured," said Dr Anies, Medical Superintendent , district hospital. The driver of the ill fated Tempo identified as Shahbaz Ahmed who on way to District Hospital succumbed to his injuries and his body was sent back to Budhal. After legal formalities and postmortem of the deceased police will lodge a case against the Mini Bus driver who fled from the spot after the accident, said a senior police officer. |
