Shobha Yatra taken out on Ramnavmi

Jammu, Apr 15 : A colorful 'Rath-Yatra' (religious process) was today taken out to celebrate the festival of Ramnavami-marking the incarnation day of Lord Rama-in the city of Temples Jammu.
Raj Kumar Martand Singh and Raj Kumar Ranvijay Singh attended Ramnavmi Rath Yatra Poojan at Shri Raghunath ji Temple.
The 'Rath Yatra' was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust and Raghunath bazaar welfare association, Sanatan dharma sabha, Rajput Sabha, Brahaman Sabha,Mahajan Sabha, Khatri Sabha , Raghunath Bazar Heritage Society and various social originations.
Thousands of devotees from various parts of the region took part in the procession. The procession started from Raghunath ji Temple and it after passing through City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazar,Purani Mandi and City Chowk culminated back at Raghunath Ji Temple. A special pooja was also performed by Martandh Singh and Ranvijay Singh at Raghunath Ji Temple Jammu before the commencement of Rath Yatra. Hundreds of devotees comprising prominent, citizens, politicians and heads of religious organizations participated in the Yatra. Various heads of the non-Hindu organizations also accorded a rousing reception to the Yatra enroute. Several prominent people including MOS Education Smt. Priya Sethi, Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal, IG J&K Police Danish Rana, Director Doord-arshan Smt. Anjali Sharma, Yashpal Gupta, Dr Deepak Abrol, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Maj Gen R S Jamwal, Rama kant dubey, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Yudvir Sethi and other prominent Citizen also joined the Shobha Yatra procession, Muslim Federation also welcome the Rath Yatra. Shashi Khajuria Secretary Dharmarth Trust co-ordinate the Ramnavami Rath-yatra. Tight security arrangements were made across the city for the smooth conduct of celebrations senior police officers also presents on the occasion. Heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at the historical Raghunath ji temple where people made long queues to participate in "pooja" and other holy rituals. Meanwhile, devotees also offered special prayers on the banks of river Tawi where they had went for immersion of 'Saakh' (barleysprouts).
