Locals demand inquiry in hung up Bye Pass Mandi | | | Early Times Report Poonch, May 9: Alleging inordinate delay in construction of Bye Pass Mandi in district Poonch to decongest the traffic in Mandi markets, the locals have demanded probe in delay in much awaited project which allegedly is delayed for the want of funds. According to locals the markets of this border tehsil are very congested resulting into constant traffic jams and keeping in view PWD Department sanctioned a Bye Pass Road from Mandi Bridge to Khati -Masjid during 2013-14. They said that as per officials sources the concerned department till now has atleast spent huge amount for the earth work of the said road further adding that the concerned contractors and officials of concerned department have allegedly misused the funds and the bye pass road still eludes the reality. Talking to this reporter, the locals complained that the people are suffering due to large number of traffic jams in Mandi Bazaar while the inordinate delay in the bye pass road courtesy lack of funds is affected the normal life in the area. Alleging embezzlement of the funds in the name of earth work, which later has been washed away during September Floods 2014, the locals demanded probe in alleged embezzlement of funds. Locals namely Sajad Ahmed, Nawaz Sharief and Mohd Aslam also expressed concerns over the delay in bye pass road. |
