Early Times Report JAMMU, May 9: Using his influence, a high-profile retired SSP is nowadays alleged to be making a huge money by purchasing and selling disputed properties. He was alleged to have made a lot of money in one such deal in Jammu. Police sources said he did the land business before his retirement also, but turned a full time property agent after his retirement. Before his retirement, he was termed as powerful in state police circles. He often exploited his political connections to get choice postings, but was not given any significant posting when he was at the verge of his retirement. Sources said he wanted to be posted as SSP, Jammu, before his retirement, but the police headquarters had not given a green signal to his proposal. He was later posted in Srinagar. He did the land business in Srinagar too, but after attaining superannuation, he was fully focussing on Jammu to do the land business, sources said. "There is a piece of land in Jammu which was under someone's occupation," sources said and added that he took a lot of money from another group and got the land vacated, using his influence and the services of serving SHOs and other police officers. "He has now asked the people living on another disputed plot in Jammu city to vacate it," sources said, alleging that he had already taken an hefty amount from another party to get the land vacated. The occupants have, however, lodged a complain with senior police officers against the ex-SSP. Despite that, he was trying to get the land vacated, sources said. |
