MLA Raina's goons make life hell for poor couple | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, May 9: A group of goons allegedly loyal to BJP MLA Ravinder Raina has made the life of a couple hell by continuously harassing them. Ajay Sharma, working as a daily wager with Social Forestry department in Reasi, was fired by Raina on the pretext that he was exposing the misdeeds of administrative works in Rajouri to media. Though Sharma, a resident of Nohoti village, had given in writing to his department that he had not leaked anything to the media, the MLA fearing for his political stature got Sharma removed from his job. Now in a recent development, the MLA convened a meeting at Rajouri guest house where he directed his so-called followers and supporters to "find some fault' with the working of wife of poor Sharma so that she could also be removed from her job in the Anganwari. Fearing threat to his and his wife's life, Sharma approached Early Times. He said the MLA "can go to any extent and even could murder me." "I fear for my life as well as that of my wife, as the goons of the MLA are threatening me every day. I have no other option but to seek the shelter of media so that my plight could be highlighted," said Sharma, tears rolling down from his cheeks. Sharma said that after the district administration, the BJP high command in Delhi, and the ministers of BJP did not intervene and take action against the MLA, he found no other option but to approach the media. Sharma has challenged the MLA to prove his charges against him. He said a dispute erupted between his family and the family of one an ex-sarpanch Mohan Lal, who is a BJP member and a close confidante of Ravinder Raina. "I and my family have been pressurized by Mohan Lal to strike a compromise on the inherited land of his family on which a dispute is going on for 20 years. I did not yield and thus Mohan Lal using his influence reached the Forest department with frivolous charges against me and got me removed," said Sharma. |
