Students of Doda, Kishtwar colleges fear uncertain future | 60% syllabus courses uncovered | | Bijay Charak

Jammu, May 9: With 2nd semester examination of Jammu University undergraduate course approaching, 60 percent syllabus of Doda, Kishtwar colleges is yet not covered due to which the future of hundreds students is threatened. Ammar Manzoor Dar, a student of Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah told Early Times that in last week of this month, Jammu University is going to conduct 2nd semester examination of all undergraduate courses while in the colleges falling in Doda, Kishtwar regions merely 40 percent syllabus has been completed. "Previous year Jammu University had started semester system in under graduate courses and in December, 2015 1st semester examination was conducted. Due to late admissions and bad weather condition, the class work in 2nd semister was started on March 10, while colleges in other districts including Jammu , Udhampur, Kathua , Samba and Rajouri the classes had started in the month of January" said the students. They further said that in a short time it was not possible to complete the pending syllabus. Couple of days back students of GDC Doda met with Principal and apprised about that the issue and also requested to forward a letter to Controller Examination, Jammu University to extend their examination date. When contacted Controller of Examination, Jammu University, Sanjeev Mahajan said that undergraduate 2nd semester examination have no changes and will be conducted as per scheduled. Date sheet of these courses has been declared in February and till date not a single letter was received from any college Principal. |
