| Jammu's quest for true representative continues unabated after BJP's failure | | | Raj Sandeep

jammu, May 9: The people of Jammu, who have suffered at the hands of BJP leaders elected as their representatives for legislative assembly, are still in quest of their true local representative determined to represent the hopes and aspirations of those who expected BJP to be only the real protectors of their interests.
A stalwart of a political party while talking to correspondent of Early Times, said on the condition of anonymity that after the negative role of leaders belonging to BJP marginalizing its own supporters in Jammu, a strong wind is blowing for search of genuinely true representatives to vouch for cause of Jammu having suffered emotionally atrocious treatment despite reposing full faith whosoever came to them for support of votes ever since the democratic process was put to gear in J&K,further said, adding that the initiative taken by Pawan Gupta, MLA and former Minister to raise his voice by sitting in opposition against injustice being meted out to people of Jammu is a welcome step but his roar is likely to be a voice in wilderness ,who otherwise, seems to be determined to continue his struggle single handed to protect the interests of Jammu.
Looking towards the role of two legislators of National Conference having won from Nagrota and Bishnah constituencies in 2014 inspite of strong Modi wave in Jammu province which according to AshwaniSingh, who is the supporter of National Conference, was the result of faith of public in both these elected legislators. Sushma Kumari express her deep concern said that when BJP elected leaders have sold their conscience for the sake of power and suppressed the voice of Jammu region, it becomes the responsibility of two NC elected representatives of public to rose to the occasion and raise their voice against outbrusts of anti national elements in Kashmir atleast for their own supporters in Jammu who are equally hurt as the BJP supporters did because the common interests of Jammu people should always be above the barriers of party politics. Om Parkash lamented the helplessness of Jammu leaders irrespective of any political party, and said that the provincial President of NC belonging to Jammu strongly projecting himself as saviour of Jammu and its cause when in power and now in opposition, has made studied silence towards emerging political scenario adversely affecting Jammu waiting for some local leader of the stature of Provincial President of NC to display exemplary courage and fortitude to now prove to be the true leader of Jammu but in vain because ,as of now, he has not uttered a single word to raise his voice for protecting the nationalistic forces here ostensibly for fear of attracting flak and annoyance from high command(NC) in valley which too has sadly joined hands with separatists to support sinister agenda of their foreign handlers to thwart and flare up the people friendly schemes of government.
Rameshwer Manhas, BJP supporter was furious at the selfishness of BJP Ministers for failing to raise issues of public importance of Jammu with tug of war now underway started by its own MLAs and MLCs ,as appeared in media reports, who are up in arms hitting at the Ministers for not attending to their problems.He said that when Pawan Gupta, MLA belonging to strong BJP family background has raised his voice of dissent against the BJP Ministers in a press conference the other day for their arrogant behavior and selling out the interests of Jammu to Kashmiri leaders ,then what ails the estranged BJP legislators being looked down upon to raise their voice with Pawan Gupta to protect and address the concerns of Jammu public unitedly, who voted them to attain the present position, for taking side with their voters if they are really sincere and honest from the core of their heart because after all they owe responsibility and accountability to people or otherwise if they (MLAs) are unable to do so ,they should explain to the people clearing as to what are their constraints which are more above the interests of Jammu ,who have been left in the lurch for their fault of supporting them during election in 2014. |
