| All is not well in SDH Mandi, People demand inquiry | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, May 9: Patients and visitors to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Mandi are getting a nightmarish experience as it presents a very gloomy picture of medicare due to non serious attitude and lack of work culture among the majority of doctors posted at the District Hospital (DH) Poonch.
People of Mandi alleged that out of the eight medical officers posted at SDH Mandi only few are performing their duties with sense of duty and true to the oath to medical profession.
"The so called private practice culture is also giving a hard blow to the health care system at this hospital," local alleged adding that all this is further declining the health scenario in the area. Following various complaints in this regard -poor health services, the eminent social activist Javid Iqbal visited SDH Mandi and found majority of doctors absent from their duties. Reshi raised the matter with the BMO Mandi and stated that the Physician and Gynecologist were not present in hospital and an MPW was handling the affairs of the wards instead of Gynecologist.
"If government has provided facilities to the people, then why people are left to suffer?, he asked. People of Mandi in this regard demanded that the matter should be investigated and action against BMO, Gynecologist posted at SDH for his/her unauthorized absence and other erring officers at earliest to send strong message among the absentees. |
