Early Times Report Jammu, May 9: Bhartlya Kala Sangam organized seminar on the topic of 'Folk Songs and Dances of Jammu Region' at Government Women College Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi in which large number of students belonging to Music fraternity participated. In this programme, Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal Govt. Women College was the Chief Guest. Besides, Chief Bhartiya Kala Sangam Jammu, T.R. Sharma Chairman and Ramesh Singh Chib, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam were also present. While welcoming the Chief Guest and audience, T.R. Sharma, Chairman Bhartiya Kala Sangam gave a brief account of cultural activities and other literary programme done during the span of 35 years with its beginning in the year 1980, further said, adding that the club has extended its activities behind the barrier of Jammu to rural and far flung areas of Jammu Division involving young and budding artists to expose their talent on the platform provided by BKS. He expressed gratitude to the Principal and management of the college for providing full cooperation and platform for organising the event. |
