HC orders listing of old cases during vacations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 9: The high court registrar general today issued a circular as regards the listing of old cases before the judges who would be using a part of their vacations for the purpose. According to an April 30, 2016 circular, Chief Justice of India T S Thakur has desired that the judges of this high court should use at least a part of the vacation time to take up the old matters especially those in which the people are languishing in the jails. In view of the CJI's decision, high court Chief Justice N Paul Vasnathakumar has taken a decision for listing the old matters before the judges who would be using a part of their vacations for the purpose. The BARs were requested to provide the numbers of old cases, which they intend should be heard during vacations along with a consent letter in original of all the counsels appearing in such cases to Registrar Judicials of the concerned wing within a one week.
