Jammu, May 9: The crime branch (CB), Jammu, has registered a case against one Amit Bhan of Chandigarh for duping people in the name of MBBS admissions. A written complaint against Bhan was lodged with CB by one Mohammad Zubair, son of Ghulam Nabi of Kishtwar, wherein it was alleged that the accused had charged Rs 45 lakh from him in the name of providing him admission in Batra College and Hospital, Jammu. Rs 17.50 lakh of the total amount was transferred to Bhan's A/c No 0055040100016571 in J&K Bank, Connaught Place, New Delhi, from Zubair's A/c No 06353020400000008 in J&K Bank, Hadyal, Kishtwar, and one Parwaz Malik's A/c No C02380 in J&K Bank, Town Hall. Zubair's Kishtwar account is opened in the name of Home Care Electric Store. The complainant alleged that Bhan had also taken from him Rs 27.50 lakh in cash, but he neither provided him admission to the Batra Medical College nor refunded the money. The CB has booked him under sections 420 and 406 of RPC. (JNF) |
