Jammu, May 9: In a petition filed by people of Aul in Ghat block of Doda, seeking a direction to respondents not to shift the new health sub-centre from the village, high court judge Tashi Rabstan today issued a notice to health minister Bali Bhagat and ordered maintenance of status quo.
According to petitioners, the minister had publically announced to shift the health sub-centre. Apart from Bhagat, the court also issued notices to the Health Commissioner, Director of Health Services, Jammu, Chief Medical Officer, Doda, and Block Medical Officer, Ghat.
The court directed the registry to the list the matter after service was complete. Justice Rabstan, after hearing the petitioners' counsel, ordered that subject to the objections from other side and till next date before the bench, a status quo would be maintained with respect to the shifting of the new health sub-centre from Aul.
The counsel submitted that the minister, during his recent visit at Doda, had hinted at shifting of the sub-centres sanctioned by the previous government and this could be the outcome of political vendetta. (JNF)
