Dissident Congress leaders from Samba unit may join BJP | | | Early Times Report
vijaypur, May 23: Whether it is Modi factor or dissent within various political parties including Congress, many local leaders even from the grand old party -Congress have expressed willingness to join the saffron party, high placed sources said. As already the rumours are in air that some Congress leaders are feeling suffocated due to sideling of the old party cadre against the new faces within party there is every possibility that disgruntling Congress cadre may look towards the BJP. On anonymity a district BJP leader disclosed that atleast two prominent local Congress leaders are willing to join party and only formal negotiations are awaited as the resentment brewing among Congress leaders against their party leadership and many are waiting for right time to announce their joining other political parties. Without disclosing identities of individuals, the BJP sources said, "Among the two one is from Vijaypur and the other is from Samba assembly segment." Sources added that the duo claimed to be loyal to the party and were serving Congress for over two decades but the duo alleged that they are being sidelined and neglected by the party leaders reasons better known to party leadership. Meanwhile sources added if Congress leaders join BJP it will be a shot in the arm of BJP which is working on a mission 'Congress Mukat Bharat' and as they say every drop counts and party welcomes and regards loyal and devoted cadre. "If Congress dissidents join BJP, it will prove strengthening of party unit in district which was once a fortress of Congress and later turned to be strong hold of National Conference and saw winds of change when it suddenly set favouable winds to the regional party Jammu Kashmir National Panther Party (JKNPP). |
