People rue lack of basic amenities during holy Ramadan 6/24/2016 10:16:06 PM Early Times Report POONCH, June 24: Holy month of Ramadan holds special status among Muslims and during this revered month administration across state makes arrangements. However, this year unlike previous ones, the administration took least interest to provide basic amenities during this month. This non serious attitude of administration forced common citizens to protest. Congress leader Imtiaz Salaria while lambasting the administration said " It is very unfortunate that during the holy month of Ramadan, the district administration, which was supposed to look after the basic amenities, is in deep slumber. He lamented that prices of commodities were left to vendors/businessmen to decide which his has led to a situation where price of items like chicken/meat/vegetables are sky high and out of reach of common man. He said state government is providing extra ration qouta on Eid festival but local administration has no strategy/plan to provide that quota. Salaria while speaking in a meeting of citizens with DDC Poonch further urged the administration to focus on providing basic amenities during Eid/Friday and concerned department should check the un-regulated price of commodities.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
