Rs 1.53 cr scam surfaces in GMCH Ahead of probe, lobbying for politicians' aashirwaad starts 6/24/2016 11:27:21 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 24: The enquiry into the alleged diversion of Rs 1.53 crore by Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu has not started yet but some doctors and officials are leaving no stone unturned to influence the case through political interference. Credible Sources in the H&ME Department told Early Times that since the matter of diversion of Rs 1.53 crore in GMCH was taken up in Upper House (J&K Assembly) and Minister for Health and Medical Education Department assured members present in the assembly that will be enquired into these allegations and submit a reportwithin two days but unfortunately, the department concerned has failed to do so till date. "Those officials including few senior doctors, who are linked with the scam directly as well as indirectly, were visiting homes of some top leaders in BJP' to hush-up matter. Most interesting, the close lieutenant has been assigned special duty to appease the top politician so that result would of come out as per their wishes, they asserted. According to sources a politician is also associated with this scam and using their power to influence as well as compelling the Government to delay in start enquiry. A plan also charted out to deal with this case and all tainted officials who are linked with case following the plan and nothing is being done without asking politician. They alleged that some top level 'babus' are fearing to take action against the tainted officials and issue directions to hold enquiry of scam worth crores. Here need to mention that Rs 1.53 crore were diverted which funds sought from the government to meet the requirement of hospital and diversion was made on the directions of GMCH Principal who had requested for diversion of funds to the Mechanical Division of the Hospital.
