CM concerned about Jammu, BJP ministers not | No BJP minister attend review meeting | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 24: Amid scorching heat and humid temperature, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti convened a high level meeting to review developmental projects in Jammu. But, the BJP ministers, who are self-styled representatives of Jammu people, have no time to participate in this meeting. Chief Minister managed time from her busy schedule, especially when Assembly session is going on, but the BJP ministers are busy in enjoying pleasant weather of Kashmir Valley. This is second time during the last one month, Chief Minister has reviewed projects in Jammu in the absence of BJP ministers, whose priorities appear to be different. In the beginning of this month, Mehbooba Mufti had reviewed power and water situation in Jammu when this region was facing worst ever crisis. The Chief Minister is serious to mitigate miseries of the people of Jammu region but the elected representatives of this region have no time for the people. Non of the BJP minister has accompanied the Chief Minister during her visit to Jammu. There is strong anger among residents of Jammu region over style of functioning of BJP ministers who have apparently ignored their voters after attaining power. Meanwhile Chief Minister today asked the administration to reach out to the people and focus on development and good governance. She also called for judicious use of the existing manpower and their capacity building to ensure better delivery of service. "Our focus has to be on expediting development, ensuring good governance and providing a corruption-free administration," the Chief Minister said while chairing a high-level meeting convened here this afternoon to review the progress of development projects in Jammu region. "As long as I am here I would spend every day in mitigating the sufferings of the people," she said and added that she would like her officers to become partners in this enterprise of hope so that the people get to feel the change. The Chief Minister said she was not satisfied with the present pace of delivery as there is still huge gap in decision-taking and implementation on the ground. "All of us shall have to put our act together and make the things move at the desired pace on the development front," she said and added that adequate resources are available both through the State Plan and through Prime Minister's Development Programme for development. She asked the government officials to work with focussed attention on the programmes related to women, youth and disadvantageous sections of the society. "The officers should work fearlessly with proactive and pro-people approach so that people feel the change," she said adding; "If the officers face any problems, they can freely interact with me, if they feel that there are long pending issues they can come to me and get those issues sorted out." |
